Panama's next president loves Texas football, seeks better U.S. relations

Panama’s next president, a U.S.-educated college football fan, has stressed the importance of improving relations with the United States while signaling greater scrutiny of investment from China that has raised concern in Washington.

Election authorities declared former Agriculture Minister Laurentino “Nito” Cortizo, of the center-left Democratic Revolution Party (PRD), winner of Sunday’s unexpectedly close vote, with a two-point lead over his nearest rival.

Video: Taylor Swift releases upbeat new single and video 'ME!'

Grammy-winning singer Taylor Swift on Friday released a cheerful pop duet called “ME!” along with a colorful video filled with pastel-drenched images of butterflies, rainbows and a young couple in love.
“ME!” features Brendon Urie, the lead singer of Panic! at the Disco, who at the video’s start is fighting with Swift in a conversation in French. The video turns upbeat as the music starts. “I promise that you’ll never find another like me,” Swift sings.

Avengers: Endgame on pace to crack $300 million in U.S. and Canada opening...

Marvel superhero spectacle “Avengers: Endgame” hauled in a record $60 million at U.S. and Canadian box offices on Thursday night, and distributor Walt Disney Co “cautiously” predicted an unprecedented $300 million weekend debut.

That would smash the current opening-weekend domestic record of $258 million, set a year ago by predecessor “Avengers: Infinity War.”

Pope Francis kisses the feet of South Sudan leaders urging them to maintain peace

On Thursday, Pope Francis knelt to kiss the feet of South Sudan’s previously warring leaders, in a dramatic gesture after an unprecedented retreat at the Vatican.  
Pope however urged them to not return to a civil war. He also appealed to President Salva Kiir, his former deputy turned rebel leader Riek Machar, and three other vice presidents to respect any peace agreement they signed and commit to forming a unity government in May.

"Gay" CNN news anchor Don Lemon engaged to boyfriend, Tim Malone


CNN anchor Don Lemon has announced his engagement to boyfriend Tim Malone.
"He gave me a present on his birthday. How could I say no?" the anchor captioned the photo of their bowtie-shaped dog tags engraved with the words, "daddy will you marry papa?"

The Super Eagles of Nigeria squad have kicked off preparations for their friendly against England, which is part of the build-up games ahead of the 2018 World Cup in Russia this month.
Captain John Obi Mikel alongside Victor Moses, Odion Ighalo, Alex Iwobi, Leon Balogun and Ahmed Musa among other stars who were pictured today training at the Wembley Stadium, where the game will kick off on Saturday, June 2, 2018. at 5:15 PM.

Breaking: Arsenal set to appoint Unai Emery as new manager to replace Arsene Wenger...naijacoolnews

New reports from Arsenal says the English club is set to appoint Unai Emery as their new manager.
Manchester City assistant manager and former Gunners captain Mikel Arteta was a strong favourite to succeed Arsene Wenger but  Emery emerged as the unanimous choice following a recruitment process in which all candidates were spoken to.
The 46-year-old Spaniard is available after leaving Paris St-Germain where he won one Ligue 1 title and four domestic cups in two seasons in charge. Previously he guided Sevilla to three consecutive Europa League triumphs between 2014 and 2016.
